Earlier this year we began to plan our first run of Compass Catch-ups. These ninety-minute morning workshops would consist of a presentation by Compass CEO John de la Motte and Director Lucas Filer followed by a feedback session with members of the Compass team. Taking place in Compass schools, we invited members of the wider Compass community to attend, offering an opportunity to hear about the changes being made to Compass while having the chance to tell us what they thought about the platform. We would also make sure we provided plenty of tea, coffee, and cake.
Now that the final event of our initial Compass Catch-up run is complete, we have been overwhelmed by both the success of the sessions and the positive reception the initiative has received. East Doncaster Secondary College, Grovedale College, Taylors Lakes Secondary College, and Mornington Secondary College, the Compass schools who kindly hosted us, undoubtedly played a large role in this success. As did all of the attendees who took time out of their busy schedules to attend: we want to thank everybody involved and hope to see you at future sessions.
While we are aware from the feedback we have received that the event offered a welcome chance to hear about what was coming next at Compass, we also found the experience incredibly valuable. Listening to the thoughts of Compass users about what we are doing well and what we can do better has already informed how we are working - so we want to thank you all again.
If you did not have an opportunity to attend this round of Catch-ups, the good news is that we have already begun planning the next - and we're keen for you to take part. If you would like to volunteer space in your school to host a Catch-up, you can get in contact here. We are especially interested in hearing from Compass schools in regional areas.
We also wanted to ensure that everybody had access to the presentation used at the events, so you can download the slides here. Whether you attended a Catch-up or not, we hope that you find the presentation offers an insight into the developments being made at Compass. Even more importantly, we hope we have an opportunity to see you at the next round of Catch-ups!
