Update: Form and House Group Management

We are thrilled to announce two updates to Form and House Group Management in Compass!

PLEASE NOTE: The following information is only applicable to schools who use People Management to manage their user data and NOT an external SIS.

Code Set Administration is a new feature that will now give staff the power to add, archive, and delete Form & House Groups in Compass. 

Users with the CodeSetAdministration permission can access this feature through either the Cog Icon > Administration Tools > Code Set Administration OR People Management > Tools menu. The new permission to access this feature will be assigned to any roles groups that already have the ability to add student milestones.

Standardise Data is a new tool within People Management that will allow CompassSponsors (ONLY) to correct Form and House Groups that have been duplicated due to the incorrect entry of those groups. Access can be gained via People Management > Tools > Standardisation Tool > Standardise Data.

These changes will ensure there is consistency across your school cohorts, ultimately alleviating the stress that comes with re-structuring the way your school looks in Compass.

‘Code Set Administration’

Key Changes:

  • Staff can no longer add Form and House Groups via the add Milestone process. New items MUST now be added through Code Set Administration.
  • Staff can choose to import Form Groups or House Groups via CSV, or add them individually (Item, Code).
  • Only ‘Active’ Form Groups and House Groups will display when adding a new Milestone.

NB: For NSW and ACT schools, 'Form Group' will be changed to 'Roll Class' in the future.
