Notify Parents and Students of Learning Task Results
Teachers can now easily notify students and parents when Learning Task results are released. This update ensures families are promptly informed, reducing missed results and encouraging parent engagement with student progress and feedback.
Before sending communications to parents and students, ensure that the visibility settings for the grading components in both the Security Matrix and on the Components tab have been configured correctly.
To send communications, click on the ‘Spanner icon’ next to the Learning Task > Edit > Click on the ‘Components’ tab > Click on ‘Save & send communications’ > Select the communication method and who you want to send the communications to.
Please contact our Support team via the Livechat feature to turn this feature on in your portal.
This enhancement is currently unavailable for CEnet and WA Government schools. Where applicable, they are expected to be rolled out soon. For further information, please contact your relevant representative.
New Consent Field Mapping for CASES21 Import
This update only applies to Victorian Government Schools using PMv1.
To support recent updates from the DET on student media consent, we’ve updated the consent fields in Compass to align with the updates in CASES21.
You can find these updated fields by opening a student’s User Record > Basic tab > ‘Publication Authorisation’ section.
Under ‘Publication Authorisation’, you will now find three checkbox fields:
- To School Community
- To Phyiscal Environment
- To Media
When the consent field is ‘Y’ in CASES21, the corresponding consent field in Compass will be ticked. When the consent field is ‘N’ or ‘U’ in CASES21, the corresponding consent field in Compass will be unticked.We recommend checking your student consent data in CASES21 is entered correctly, as Compass will now import directly from the information in these fields.
