We’re excited to launch Compass Countdown! Over the next few weeks, we’ll be spotlighting some of our most impactful product updates, led by feedback from our school communities, designed to save time, improve visibility, and make everyday workflows in Compass even smoother.
Want to be the first to see what’s coming next? Join our Compass Schools Community on Facebook for exclusive previews, behind-the-scenes insights, and the chance to connect with other schools along the way.
A quick note on how we share updates: Going forward, blog post notifications will no longer appear as in-portal banners. Instead, you can find all the latest news and updates under the ‘News’ tab in the Help Centre, located in the bottom left-hand corner of your Compass portal.
Associate Custom Flags with Chronicle Entries

With better visibility and less time spent on manually assigning flags, schools can more confidently track student wellbeing, behaviour, and additional needs over time, supporting faster insights and more informed decision-making.
When creating Chronicle entries, Custom Flags can now be applied automatically, ensuring important information is captured instantly without extra steps. This reduces manual admin and keeps records consistent, giving staff clearer visibility of key information at a glance.
Chronicle My Notifications
Introducing the new ‘My Notifications’ sub-tab in Chronicle! With this new addition, staff can view and access a list of their Chronicle notifications directly within Compass, making it simpler and more efficient to stay up to date.
The ‘My Notifications’ sub-tab provides key details at a glance, such as the entry name, student names, points and approval status. Whether you’re reviewing new entries or following up on updates, everything you need is right where you need it!

BONUS: Display Appended Chronicle Entries in Edit View

Appended entries are now displayed directly within the Chronicle entry edit view! This update gives staff instant visibility of related entries and updates, making it easier to review the full context of an entry and ensure records are accurate and complete.

That’s a wrap on Week 1. Tune in next week for more exciting enhancements!
