Below you’ll find some exciting product updates, including our new Forms module, additional filtering options for Semester Report elements, the ability to generate Chronicle entries from Insights cycles and folder duplication in School Resources and Documentation.
New Forms Module
We’re excited to launch our new integrated Forms module – a powerful and flexible way for schools to collect the information they need, when they need it.
With the Forms module, schools can digitise existing paper forms or create fully customised digital forms from scratch directly in Compass. Making it easier than ever to collect information from your wider school community.
From parent surveys to change-of-details forms, the Forms module supports document uploads, digital signatures, and acknowledgements – perfect for collecting responses quickly and efficiently.
If you’re interested in organising a demonstration of the Forms module, please get in touch with our team at customeraccounts@compass.education.
Available in VIC, NSW, SA, QLD, NT & WA Independent schools
Filter Semester Report elements by display type
Staff can now filter reporting elements by display type, providing a clearer view of the wide range of report elements available in Compass. Simply navigate to the Elements tab of your Semester Reports module to find the new Display Type dropdown and filter as needed.
Staff will need the ReportsAdmin permission in order to access this area.

Generate Chronicle entries from Insights
Schools can now generate Chronicle entries directly from student-targeted Insights cycles, making key information instantly accessible from a student’s profile page. Entries can be pinned for visibility and include a direct link back to the original Insights cycle, so there’s no need to search through multiple cycles to find relevant information.
This is especially useful for important documentation like IEPs or ILPs, ensuring critical information is easy to find and always front and centre.
If you would like this feature enabled in your Compass portal, please get in contact with our Support Team!

Duplicate folders in School Resources and Documentation
Schools can now duplicate folders in School Resources and Documentation, streamlining processes to allow you to quickly copy resources across years and subject areas. Simply right-click on the folder and select ‘Duplicate Selected’.
Users with permission to edit the folder will be able to use this new function.
