New Notification Option in Chronicle, Insight Response Notifications for Faculty Managers, and more!

New send option for parent & student emails in Chronicle

We’ve added a new send mode option, ‘Push Notification if available, otherwise Email’, which is available when sending parent and student email communications in Chronicle.

This new send option ensures that if parents and students don’t have the Compass app installed, they will receive an email instead of a push notification.

This helps ensure you can communicate effectively with members of your school community and makes sure important communications are being received.

Notify Faculty Managers of completed Insight responses

Faculty Managers can now automatically receive an email notification as soon as a parent or student completes all mandatory questions in an Insight cycle. This update helps ensure key staff are kept in the loop and can take timely action, without needing to manually check for completed responses

Email address for parents updating their details notification

You can now update the email address that receives notifications when parents update their details via Compass.

For Victorian Government schools, this email address will also receive notifications when parents pay for an event using their CSEF or their School Saving Bonus (SSB) balance.

Please note that only one email address can be added to this field. If multiple staff members need to be notified, we recommend using a shared email address that is monitored by several staff, for example, your school’s email address.

To check the email address currently entered for your school portal:

Go to the Organisation menu
Click on the People Management module
On the People tab, click on ‘Settings’

‘Flagged for SSB’ Events Attendee Status

When a parent or guardian chooses to pay for an Event using the School Saving Bonus (SSB) in Compass, the student’s Attendee Status will automatically update to ‘Flagged for SSB’ on the Events page. This helps Victorian schools quickly identify and manage attendees who paid using SSB, ensuring streamlined and accurate receipting.
