Dashboard notification for published Semester Reports
At Compass, we’re continuously evolving our platform to improve communication between schools and families. One of the latest updates introduces dashboard notifications for both parents and students when a Semester Reports cycle is published.
Schools will no longer need to manually create newsfeed items to alert the community about report availability. With this enhancement:
- The alert text will read: “Semester report available to view – [Student Name] – Click here to view.” Clicking this takes the user directly to the report.
- Parents and students will now receive a dashboard notification as soon as a reporting cycle is published.
- Notifications are specific and student-linked. Parents with multiple children will receive separate alerts for each student.
Key Functional Details
- Notifications trigger when the “Published Report Access” setting is turned on for a report cycle.
- They are automatically removed when access is disabled again.
- The feature includes controls for schools to specify expiration dates for notifications via a date/time picker, helping avoid clutter from old alerts.
This update is currently not available to CENET and WA Government schools
Email parents with Conference bookings
You can now easily remind parents of their upcoming Conference bookings with the new ‘Email Parents with bookings’ option within the Conference cycle.
Placeholders such as the parent’s name, address information, booking information, and a link to your school’s Compass portal can be incorporated into the email, providing a simple and effective way to keep parents informed of their bookings.
