Preset App Favourites
School administrators can now preset the modules that appear in the App Favourites for parents, students, and staff.
This enhancement allows your school to improve the visibility and accessibility of modules that are most important to your community.
This update has been released to the Compass App (iOS and Android).
We recommend letting your school community know to update their app to ensure they benefit from the new functionality.
Key features:
- A new section called ‘App Favourites’ is now available under Administration Tools.
- Admins can:
- Set a module as a default favourite (shows by default in the app)
- Lock a favourite (prevents users from removing it)
- Configure favourites separately for Staff, Students, and Parents
- Only users with the ConfigureBase permission can see and save these settings.
- A maximum of 9 modules can be set as favourites
How it will work in the app:
- New modules will not be defaulted or locked by default
- Default favourites appear by default in users’ apps (unless removed, if unlocked)
- Locked favourites cannot be removed by users
- Predefined favourites will replace any user-set favourites
Assign Pulse Reports to Context Pages
Pulse Reports can now be assigned to context pages, similar to Pulse Dashboards!
This helps ensure that staff members at your school are getting the most out of reports designed to provide important insights into student wellbeing, behaviour, assessment results, and attendance. These insights are now more readily accessible across your Compass portal.
This enhancement is currently unavailable for CEnet and WA Government schools. Where applicable, they are expected to be rolled out soon. For further information, please contact your relevant representative.
Bulk archive Attendance Notes
Attendance Administrators can now archive Attendance Notes in bulk. This feature is especially useful when a large number of Attendance Notes have been created incorrectly, saving administrators the time and effort of archiving each note individually.
We recommend reviewing and confirming that the Attendance Notes being archived are no longer needed. However, if a note is accidentally archived, it can easily be restored. Simply click the ‘Archive Notes’ button and restore any selected notes.
