As we gear up for Bett UK 2025, we can’t help but reflect on how far we’ve come since our very first foray into the event back in 2022. It’s been a whirlwind journey of discovery, growth, and making our mark on the UK education landscape. And this year, we’re more excited than ever to showcase how Compass is helping learning thrive.
Let’s take a walk down memory lane – a story of tiny beginnings, LEGO schools, and touchscreens, leading up to our biggest Bett yet.
Bett 2022: The Humblest of Beginnings (Next to the Toilets)
Our Bett journey began in 2022, and let’s be honest – it was a modest start. We had a tiny meeting room tucked away at the back of the hall. So hidden, in fact, that if you weren’t actively looking for us, you’d probably stumble across us on your way to the toilets.

Our presence that year was small, but purposeful. We were thrilled to have team members join us all the way from Australia on secondment, along with our CEO and CCO, bringing leadership, fresh perspectives, and excitement to our first Bett experience.

With only a handful of pre-arranged meetings, we spent most of our time absorbing everything we could – meeting people, conducting market research, and even filming a mini montage video of attendee feedback. We certainly had a lot more time on our hands.
That first Bett was all about learning the ropes. We didn’t have a fancy stand or a flashy gimmick, but we left with a treasure trove of insights that would shape our future events.
Bett 2023: Growing Up with LEGO and Monsters
In 2023, we levelled up. This time, we had our first proper stand – a spot in the Management Information Zone, where we’ve happily set up camp ever since.
It was still a modest space (around 4×6 meters), but we made sure to pack it with personality and purpose. Our stand was anchored by the Compass LEGO School Model. This playful, eye-catching model illustrated how our solution helps schools tackle their many moving parts, despite all the ‘do you sell lego’ questions we got at the event.
To complement the LEGO school, we launched our Multitasking Monster storybook, a lighthearted way to highlight how Compass supports schools in managing their time, tasks, and challenges. The Multitasking Monster came from a playful truth – schools are juggling way too much! From headteachers balancing big goals with daily emergencies to administrators managing endless to-do lists, that sneaky little monster causes chaos for everyone. So we found a way to tame the beast by simplifying processes, automating admin, and freeing up time to focus on what really matters.
The combination of creativity and storytelling helped us stand out as a fresh new face in the MIS market.
It worked. People noticed us. The buzz began to build.

Bett 2024: Finding Our Place
By 2024, we were starting to feel at home at Bett. After two years of March shows, Bett returned to its traditional January slot, and so did we.
Our stand evolved again – this time featuring two large touchscreens to demonstrate our MIS in action to as many visitors as possible. It was a solid idea, but in hindsight, the touchscreens weren’t quite the showstopper we’d hoped for, although a particular team member would happily argue they were intended for practical purposes, not flashy tech. Well, we learned that practical tech is only as good as how you use it, and in our case, they probably didn’t get the attention they deserved.
Still, Bett 2024 was another success. We continued to grow our presence and strengthen our relationships with educators and partners. We were carving out our identity – helpful, genuine and friendly – like the best teacher you ever had.

And we found our voice. “Transforming Insights into Impact” featured on the stand walls wasn’t just a catchy slogan. It’s what we do every day. We help schools turn data into real improvements that make a difference where it matters most – for staff, students, guardians and communities.
We talked a lot about our genuine passion for education and helping learning thrive. That we don’t just sell software – we build partnerships with schools. No hard contracts. No pushy sales. Just real relationships based on trust, understanding and shared goals.
And it wasn’t all about numbers and processes. We also spread the message that wellbeing matters. Schools are more than timetables and attendance figures. They’re communities that need support in all areas – academic, emotional, and social. We loved hearing how much this resonated with educators. It reminded us of our vision and why we do what we do: to deliver innovation and efficiency to schools, enabling them to build great school communities, because every child deserves a great school experience.

Bett 2025: Our Biggest Year Yet
This brings us to Bett 2025 – our biggest presence yet.
While we don’t want to give too much away just yet, we can confidently say this year’s stand is bigger, bolder, and full of surprises. We’ve taken everything we’ve learned from the past three years to create an experience that reflects who we are today:
- A company that helps learning thrive.
- A team that’s authentic, passionate, and determined.
- And a brand that’s proud to challenge the status quo in education.
Our journey at Bett has been one of constant evolution. From a tiny meeting room by the toilets to a buzzing stand filled with LEGO schools and monsters, we’ve grown into a company that’s here to make a difference. We’re here to make the school day more productive, more impactful, and more enjoyable.
And we can’t wait to see what Bett 2025 will bring. Come and find us – we promise we won’t be hiding next to the loos this time!
See You at Bett UK 2025!
